UPDATE: SPITFIRE BUILD. 150415. Wing Plates. Just a small update on the work so far with the wing plates I have managed to secure upper wing plates without problems although I did start to run out of alignment towards the end of the wing, this I corrected by hand cutting a new plate and fitting in place. I still feel that I am learning on this build with the skinning and there's a lot more to do yet. This picture shows the a cardboard template cut to size and ready to draw down onto the metal plate. This picture shows sample shape ready to cut out. This shows shape ready to cut out. This shows shape ready to fit. This shows plate fitted to wing ( the wing looks out of shape just the angle) This shows the wings to date. Regards Trev. This looks very nice Trev, love the paneling. Do you have any way of letting me know the thickness of the plating? I have a little aircraft project lined up and Id like to get some of around that thickness. Steve

PROPLLER ASSEMBLY: 230415. I have assemble the crown and brass screw to the base plate, that seems to be ok, but when I insert the Prop-shaft at the rear of the back plate and then tighten I end up with a small gap of about 1mm. Is this ok! or am I waiting for a small washer in the next issue, or do I need to correct it by reducing the thread on the brass nut. Cardboard Packing. Without the Cardboard packing I have movement. Thank you for looking. Regards Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Hi Trev This is perfectly normal and as long as the crown and the brass shaft are of a tight fit then this is correctly fitted. Your build is coming along beautifully btw Spencer
