Hi all! Hasegawa Corp announced that a 1/700 scale plastic model of Izumo(いずも)-class helicopter destroyer will be released in June.  A lot of ship modelers in Japan are waiting for this model. Of course I reserved it and am waiting for it now.  Before the new model arriving, I built a model of IJN 1st class cruiser IZUMO(出雲) . She is famous from the battle in Russo-Japanese war (1904-1905). IZUMO, an old type cruiser was built in Elswick, in the United Kingdom by Armstrong Whitworth. I'll make a imaginal diorama of Izumo and IZUMO cruising. This IZUMO model will be used in the diorama. After finishing, I am going to send photos of it. Very nice work Yaturo, you are certainly skilled at ship modelling and though I am not a ship modeller myself, I do enjoy looking at your work - well done!!

Hi All! A new kit of the IZUMO（いずも） arrived last week, and I have built it at this weekend. This flush-deck escort destroyer/helicopter carrier succeeded her name from the 1st class cruiser "出雲". Hi All! My IZUMOS' (いずも＆出雲) models have reached goal. F35B, MV-22 Ospray, SH-60K, MCH-101 and some maintenance or service vehicles are located on the flying deck. Hi Davetwin, ModelMania and Andy! Thank you very much for your messages on my post. 1/700 is standard scale for warships' plastic models in Japan. There are lots of ready-made parts and tools for this scale. On the other hand, 1/350 warships' models are increased in number now a days. In Japan, making warships' models is one of the popular hobby for retired people. Such a big scale model is suited to aged modelers, and recently me too.
