Hi all,

I've just finished the Pack 13 work this afternoon. I'm now feeling like I'm really getting somewhere on this. BigGrin

A couple of things I came across today that I'd like to point out for people who are not as far on as me:-

1. Can I suggest that you do not affix the extremely tiny nuts & bolts (parts in Stage 34, official assembly in Stage 40), to the top of the gearbox until after finishing work on the gearbox and rear suspension?

While holding the gearbox/rear suspension assembly in my hands and tightening up screws etc. today I lost two of the little critters... The location they're fixed in doesn't seem to become inaccessible at all during the further work, so I can't see any problem in leaving them on their sprues for a bit.

2. Although instructions for fixing the left toelink bracket to the side of the gearbox are included in Stage 42(3), there is no mention anywhere -that I noticed at any rate- of fixing the right one on the other side.

Okay, it might seem blinkin' obvious, but I'm doing my best to follow the instructions to the letter, precisely to try to avoid pitfalls. This afternoon I found myself having to screw on the right toelink bracket through the already fitted right quarter panel, which was a bit inconvenient.

I too noticed about the toe links. I have just finished pack 12 and i saw that although it did not mention the right side it did have a picture saying 'it should now look like this' and on the picture it had both brackets fitted so i fitted it anyway. but you're right and i was a bit confused by it.

Regarding your first point about the bolts, did they come off after you had glued them as it says in the instructions, from the inside?

Yep, they did. Admittedly I was holding onto the gearbox quite tightly with my left hand, because I was screwing in awkward screws with my right one. And of course I was concentrating entirely on the job of screwing in the screw rather than how I was holding the gearbox. The heads broke off leaving the 'tails' still in the locating holes...

regarding the hoses on the gearbox. what ive done to remove the discolouring from them after the super glue is applied is paint them using Tamiya X11 chrome silver paint, its a very close match.I have also made some rubber bushes for the suspension, ive bought some 4mm rubber tubing and cut it down to size to fit between the ends of the suspension arms and brackets.i think it looks neater
