Greetings everyone! While I was volunteering at the 501st Legion booth recently at Star Wars Celebration, a friend of mine ran up to me stating he had found something right up my alley. He handed me the Millennium Falcon brochure and I quickly thanked and cursed him at the same time. Seems like I'm gonna bite the bullet and sign up for the subscription as this just seems WAY too cool to pass up!!! I've spent a little time on the forum this evening, and I have to say I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the additional work and skills that people have in modeling. I've only done snap models and have never done any customization. My plan was to just build this the way it came...do people do that? All seems rather daunting otherwise. More personally, I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan, digging just about any of it I can get my hands on. I'm in the process of building my own ANH StormTrooper armor from kit as well in order to join the 501st Legion and do some charity work with them. Looking forward to meeting and chatting with all of you. --Impatience Current Build: Millennium FalconWish List: Lamborghini Countach LP 500S, Red Bull Racing RB7

Hi Impatience Welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay with us, as for your question about mods you build it your way although as you say there are many who are adding more its not compulsory and it may even be nice just to see an unmoded version. Welcome to the forum, you made a good choice with the Falcon, I'm sure you will enjoy building her. As Andy has said there is no need to modify the build at all although it will benefit from some weathering but that is all covered in the instructuons

--Impatience Welcome to the forum Impatience, I am sure there are plenty of people building the Falcon without any modifications.I hope you will consider posting a build diary on this forum..Did you see the Falcon displayed at the Star Wars celebration? I am US forum support so please let me know if there is anything I can do to help and I hope you enjoy you Falcon build. So many of us have waited years for a large scale Falcon kit and now not only do we have that, but we have 2 more Star Wars movies coming out in the next 2 years.Good times indeed. (And no jar Jar Binks in sight). Carl

Thanks everyone for the welcomes. I'm sure I will enjoy the build as well, and I will definitely share my progress. 2 years...quite a long project for me...I'm looking forward to it. Good to know that the instructions include tips and things for weathering. I will see what minor modifications I can make as I go along...I really don't want to mess any of it up, this isn't a cheap model investment :) Looking at the forums already I can tell I'll have lots of folks ready and willing to help along the way. I ordered my kit last night, so hope to get the first installment in the next week or two. --Impatience Current Build: Millennium FalconWish List: Lamborghini Countach LP 500S, Red Bull Racing RB7
