Gun ports
I am using wood gun ports as described in Volume 31.
Installing the lower level ports horizontally flush with the strakes, means the top of the port sits proud of the strakes. Can I leave a small lip on the top of the port to seat the hatch covers or should they be cut/sanded flush with the strakes? Peter G

Hi Peter, I take it from your question you are referring to lining the gun ports. The instructions actually call for you to fit the linings with 0.2mm recess and not flush or protruding from the port. The gun port hatches actually fit on the top lining as can be seen here in issue 112 of Mr T's Official Diary.

At this stage of the build I chose to recess the linings and found the gun port hatches fitted nicely on the top lining inside the recess...

Hope this helps.

Regards

Alan
