Hi Michael, In answer to your question it depends whether the spitfire you are after is a part work series or a plastic model kit. If it's a part work I would suggest e-bay because you can pick up a whole kit at a bargain price. If it's a plastic kit such as Airfix, Revell, etc, I would recommend shopping around using the Internet as e-bay is not always the cheapest I have found. Deagostini did a r/c spitfire kit which you can pick up from e-bay at a very reasonable price. I'm building one at the moment myself. I'm going to be posting more updates very soon so look in and see what you think. If its a plastic kit you're after I might recommend Trumpeter with the Big Ed photo etch upgrade kit to make it look really special. However the choice is yours of course. Just to remind you that there is already an excellent Spitfire part work running at the moment on Model Space, you could subscribe to that one if you wanted to. It's a high quality, high detail kit, with an excellent build diary to match. I hope this helps! Regards

Big Kits tend to be RC kits. you could try Top Flite I know they have one of the later model spits but not sure it has the detail of the Deag version and certainly not as fun to build. oh and it is big! all depends on what you are looking for. http://www.top-flite.com/airplanes/topa0140.html
if your going down the plastic path Tamiya is still the benchmark kit in many peoples opinion. Jase “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

You want big like the "Spitfire", detailed etc, etc. Just wait for the DC3 to arrive. Should tick an awful lot of boxes. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Oh yes there is nothing to compare to the DC-3 out there. RC kits are big but not very detailed. You can get the Guillows kits that are covered in tissue paper and are big or the Tamiya or Trumpeter plastic kits that are very well detailed, but not that big OR you can get the DC-3- big and detailed.
