Some great scratch-building going on here Godan and how liberating it must be for you to be able to do whatever pleases, instead of following a set of instructions?

Well done - a very interesting project and one I shall continue to watch!! Cool ThumpUp

Ok so been busy on the front section over the last 2 weeks, finishing off the gridwork on top and then putting the lateral sensors and armour on the front below and building it up.
Also in the shots if have started building the loading bays and the detail in the mid section (2nd used part is tile spacers to create a feature.

I can tell already that this is going to look amazing when finished. I've only ever built models from a box & never scratch built one before. It takes alot of skill & courage to do what your doing. It will be a unique piece when finished, i can't wait. Stu

Some very competent scratch-building work happening here Godan and I particularly like the way you've done the loading bays?

Great effort all round, well done - I reckon you'll deserve an 'Outstanding Build' medal when this is finished. Cool ThumpUp

Thanks guys its an enjoyable build not having to follow a design, have decided I want to go for the look of a warship from Aliens but perhaps the fore runner before the sulaco and I want her to look as though she has been in space a long time and a few scraps.

Ok been a while, so have bee working in the nose and part of the underside. The front has a blue light fed through to the tip to give the impression of a sensor and some of the lower array the top array is to follow later in the build.
Tried to give it the impression of size and a leading edge to the ship.

Ok its been a while here is where we are now, underside guns done midship superstructure started and the underside detail.
This has started to give the ship some depth and feeling of bulk

Fabulous work Godan, I've always loved a bit of scratch building and this is quite a big lump of scratch built model!! I reckon you should buy some shares in 'Evergreen' just so you can recoup some of the cost of buying the stuff!! Blink Laugh

It must be great fun letting your imagination run free on a project like this and with the outstanding work you are doing here, you'll soon be designing models for Hollywood Sci-Fi Movies - well done!! Drool Love ThumpUp

Ok so the latest sets show the main armament, the main rail guns on the outside and the 4 missile silos inside containing ICBMs. Lower point defence tubes.
Upper quad canons and lower dual canons, armour plating and lower medium range twin missile launchers.

So far as said no kit parts at all all scraps and plasticard, taking shape into a warship

Ok so almost there, the engine bell doe with some tidying up needed and the interior needing to be made. The rear end superstructure was a challenge with as much detail as possible showing vents and an armoured plated reactor chamber.
The chamber rings ate made from plumbing waste pipe covers connecting the bell and the superstructure.
Have tried to make the rear end as detailed as possible, vents, sensors reactor cooler.
