BigGrin Evenin' Folks....thanks for comments Chaps appreciatedCool

Heres a wee bit of detail for you Alan Blink

Cool Decided to have a go at building up the signal deck for a change of pace.....Mellow am new to using photo etch but it seems to stick together ok using superglue....and has survived my clumsiness and rough handling so seems strong enough

Have also sprayed the bulkhead doors that no one will see....Cool but practise is good
Quite surprised to still see the delicate detail of handles still visible

Cool Sticking the doors to double sided sticky tabs ensuring the portholes are overhanging to prevent the holes filing up with paint

Thanks for poppin' in

Very nice work with the photo etch!

I find with etch its all about taking your time, if it doesnt work and you start losing patience its time to walk away and leave it until tomorrow BigGrin

BigGrin Thanks again for comments and keeping an eye on me GentsCool

Decided to do a bit of r/c parts starting with the rudder

Hachette supplied an r/c kit and no doubt Crying the instructions came with that seperate kit

I know the rudders supplied for the r/c version is different than for the static version...bigger.... out of scale and doesn't look right out of the water IMHO

I have decided to stick with the static version rudders as realistic handling in the water is not important for me ie the turning circles etc

Flapper As long as she doesn't turn into a submarine i will be happyLOL

I have used 2mm solid rod for the rudder shafts and 3mm * 0.45mm hollow tube(leaves a hole of 2.55mm) for the rudder stuffing tube (gets stuffed with grease)

In the static version the rudder shaft lies at an angle against a wooden template in the hull

I imagine that the r/c version would have the shafts running straight up..which seems to me that the actual rudder will not be sitting at the correct angle to the hullConfused

After dry fitting i have decided to run the stuffing tube against the template as the rudders still move freely

I suppose this again may effect performance on the water but LOL Heyho

I have used milliput shoved down the holes to fill any gaps and sat 2mm rods temporarily in the stuffing tube incase any milliput gets stuck there

Once set i will probably use more milliput there
Crying Bit of "overkill" there perhaps Cool but will keep tubes from moving and letting in any water

Thanks for lookin'

Good idea, no harm in overkill better being over cautious you wouldn't want it filling with the wet stuff would you after all your work.BigGrin
