I have a problem and hope you can advise me on. While building the boat, I noticed that deck (33) was at an angle. As I made sure that all the ribs including Frame (22),(26) and (27) was completely down in there slots in the keel it didn’t bother me at the time. Frame (22),(26) and (27) build up into a ±5º angle and I thought that if one of the ribs were not pushed in completely it will be the only one that is not angled from the rest, but seeing as it lined up in a ±5º angle it didn’t bother me. I have to be honest I did not read book 11, sequence 09 carefully as I thought it would be the same as the 1st twee decks. Everything is already glued together, I started with the first bamboo strips when it really didn’t make sense to me. So I just want to make sure, is deck (33) suppose to be on an angle or horizontal? And if it’s suppose to be horizontal, what can I do to fix it at this point (if possible) Thank you Kind regards

Thanks Eddie, the pics really do help a lot here... The deck is not angled but actually has a gentle curve to it, higher at the bow, sloping down to the mid-deck and then rising again towards the stern.. Looking at your pics the fitting of the decks looks to be fine, just make sure the deck pieces are fully glued to each of the deck supports.... .. Your first row of planks is not quite right, you need the first row of planking to follow the gentle curve of the deck. This page of the same stage of my build will show how it should look. http://forum.model-space...sts&t=5013&p=19
Also take a look at Mr T's Official build again of the same area.. http://forum.model-space...aspx?g=posts&t=5496
Your row of planks are too straight and really need to be re-done to follow the curvature.... If the planking is glued using PVA then brush the joints with hot water and after a couple of minutes the glue will soften enabling you to gently remove the strips.... Hope this helps but do come back to me if you feel you still have a problem..... Regards Alan

Hello Eddie Welcome to the forum. Alan has given some good advise and I agree with him 100 percent. Try and follow the Official build and use it as a guide as well as many excellent builds. Browse through them and you will get a feel for the build. To soften the strips place in hot water for 10 minutes and they become very pliable and manageable. Your are not alone out there and this forum is the place to look for help.
