Hi Tigerace The Akagi was built at the Kure arsenal shipyard so, Tamiya's IJN Kure Grey XF 75 will be good for the hull/superstructure, below the waterline Tamiya's Hull red XF 9 is a good match, You will also need Tamiya's Linoleum deck brown XF 79 for some of the decks. Of course you will need other colour's for the aircraft ect. Regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

thanks andy. what type of filler did you use wood filler or car body filler like p38? COMING SOON =1/72 Italeri diorama`s Battle for the Reichstag and Stalingrad battle at the tractor factory 1/16 Trumpeter King Tiger with loads of extras ON THE GO= refurbishment of 1/25 Tamiya tiger 1 , amt Star trek kits and space 1999 models

I generally use P38 car filler as it sands so well, I have also used the Ronseal wood filler [2 part like the P38] but I still think the P38 sands better and gives a smoother finish Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Looking forward to a new Akagi build log, I have just received the second pack myself. I will be waiting until I have most the packs required for planking before I start or until my will cracks whichever comes first
