I had to enter a contract with my newsagent and paid £25 up front as a sort of insurance should I default I think? My issues have been there every week, except for issue 23 last Wednesday? I am told by the newsagent that they would contact the distributor (Mernzies) concerning my missing issue, but reading through all the complaints about late deliveries, I am wondering about where the fault lies...I reckon that tomorrow being (Monday) and the beginning of the working week, we shall have some answers? I got back yesterday (11th) from 2 week's holiday, having changed my delivery address to my parent's house so they would get my issues 19 - 22 while I was away. As you can guess, nothing. Now, my parents are leaving on holiday at the end of the week, and it's too late to change the delivery address again...so it'll end up sent back to DeAg I reckon... Wibble wibble wibble !!!! BTW, on another note - I was in Cornwall for the Holibags, and went looking for the Model Shop at Gull Rock....has anyone ever managed to find it, cos I couldn't! Still waiting for my latest issues as well, that's the 1st time I have had to wait this long. Also waiting for another issue 8 because I had a duplication of rib 20b instead of the rib 21b. I thought about using it but they are different in length and do quite meet the keel in the same way, have requested it twice, admin once again had confirmed despatch of both???? but am still waiting. Much obliged... John, Click on the "My Profile" link near the top right of your page. Once you`ve done that click on the "Signature" link on the left hand side near the bottom of the page. Once done just type any text you want to have at the bottom of all your posts, you only need to so this once. It'll also change any past posts that you've already posted. Regards,
David

Deagostini has appeared on Watchdog for exactly the same reasons a couple of years ago, poor customer service, late/ missing deliveries etc etc. I also cancelled a previous subscription with them around 5 or 6 years ago, again for the same reasons, only at that time instead of waiting for the delivery before taking money, the deliveries got so far behind that they were taking money out of my account for deliveries that had not even been received yet. It ruined the whole series that I was subscribed to, and i decided eventually enough was enough and cut my losses and cancelled, meaning that everything I had already spent on the partwork was wasted. I really wanted to do this build, and had really hoped that Deag had changed it's attitude towards the customers that keep them in business, but obviously that is not the case. The postman has just delivered today's mail, and still no sign of my issues 18 - 21 which apparently were despatched on 3rd Sep.

I thought I would just add this statement from Marco Drago the President of DeAgostini.
We believe that running a business means creating value. At the De Agostini group, we create value by focusing on the quality of our staff and our processes, and by turning ideas into innovative products and services. At the start of the new millennium, the group boosted its growth and investment activities by diversifying its operations and engaging in further international expansion. Always keen to seize the opportunities offered by evolving markets, De Agostini has, by combining tradition and innovation, successfully expanded and reinvented itself while at the same time staying true to the founding principles of a family business.
The results achieved in publishing, media and communication, games and services, and alternative investments mean that today the group is one of the biggest family-owned businesses in Italy and internationally.
Corporate governance rules give operational autonomy to the group’s sub-holdings, which were created to nurture each individual sector of activity, manage the various markets and identify areas for development. The holding company, De Agostini SpA, meanwhile, is responsible for directing and coordinating the subsidiaries. Within the group, in spite of our strong family roots, the handover to the next generation is always based on merit, and on cultural and professional requirements that, if met, ensure that our managers are always fully aware of their responsibilities with respect to the company.
Our key strategy is to invest in activities which, by size and geographical diversification, allow us to maintain a sustainable competitive advantage that translates into strong financial performance. Today, our plan is to consolidate our current portfolio of activities, while at the same time focusing on a sound financial structure, targeted expansion in areas where we can achieve excellence, investment using a total return approach, and full transparency towards all our stakeholders.
Marco Drago President De Agostini S.p.A.
