Hi Everyone . I have just bought my self a present for a future build. http://www.emodels.co.uk...-plastic-model-kit.html Also I would be getting these upgrades and the book. http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/RV4900
I have heard of a few issues with the kit that needs to be overcome and am happy to do so. It is a huge model 36 inches long by 33 inches wingspan. Best regards all. Mark

It is one of my favourite planes ever since i saw it hanging up for the first time in a model shop called Modeltime near where I live. I hope the book that I will be getting will help me super detailing the kit further. Best regards. Mark

I have this in my stash in my parents loft which is worrying me due to the heat that must be in there! I also remember building this one a veeeery long time ago when first released and even then it was massive (everything is when your smaller) and even then the parts where a good fit. Spence

Good luck with the build Mark, I'll look forward to watching your build diary. I bought this kit about 6 years ago and still had it up until a couple of months ago but was clearing a bit of my ever growing stash and decided in the end that it was just TOO big and that I'd probably never build it anyway so I sold it locally. I also had all three of the Eduard PE sets for it including the interior, exterior and exhausts plus a 'Fox One' aftermarket set of decals. Sold them all as a package on Ebay for £25, if I'd known you were doing this build though I'd have happily sold them to you instead. Never mind, too late now I suppose.
The only problem areas I am aware of on this kit is the join behind the cockpit, between the nose section and the main fuselage, which is a bit coarse and doesn't align too well requiring a fair amount of filling and sanding and the mouldings for the engine air intakes don't line up too well with the internal ducting either, which again needs significant filling and sanding? There are also a few inaccuracies, particularly with regards to the intakes where there are vanes missing and the panel lines are a bit over large and deep in places, but on the whole it's a nice kit, even if a bit too BIG for most people!! I believe this is the biggest plastic kit of an aircraft that is available to date at over 3ft long?
There is a guy on the net somewhere who did a very detailed build of this, I'll see if I can find the link again when I get time and hopefully post it up for you?
All the best and good luck with the build Mark.
Kev

Kev Hi Kev . That is a shame. But thank you anyway. I have just ordered the Eduard sets so should be getting them in the next couple of days . I have heard of some of the problems but will hopefully overcome them. If you could possibly find a link to the guys website I would very much like to see that. Thanks for looking in and the information. Best regards. Mark
