Suggest's much the same on the Vulcan site.... "In her new life, still able to accelerate dramatically along the runway, XH558 will build on this exciting provenance to inspire and educate new generations of young people."

Though I can't see this happening too often as its based at a live public airport.

Love this plane, going to RAF Cosford to see it this yr. I used to live next to Bae Woodford where they were made. They were an amazing site and sound.

Just a reminder the Vulcan will be flying over Woodford, near Stockport in Cheshire on the 27th along with various other locations. I am bias as I used to work there but Woodford is the moor poignant fly past as that is where she was built. see link

http://www.vulcantothesk...s-for-V-Force-Tour.html

Just for information, Woodford is in the process of being dug up but as the original AvRo site there will be a heritage centre left behind, housed in what was the fire station, and with the original AvRo hangers in place. Woodford saw production of the Avro 19, Manchester bomber, Lancaster Bomber, Vulcan, Nimrod, ATP, Queens flight, RJ 100 (my aircraft) and others. The Vulcan XM603 in anti nuclear flash white which has been at Woodford for many years will also be part of the heritage centre.

I knew two people who worked there. Andy Birch think he was in designs. And my ex bosses wife worked on shop floor on the 146.
I used to peer through the hanger windows see what was in. My last woodford airshow was when the spitfire crashed. Sad day for those involved. Display carried on four hours later. Worth the wait to see the f14.
I once went in the cockpit of the white Vulcan. My mum and dad ran a pub in Hazel grove nr woodford and one of the customers was part of a group trying to get the white one in the air.
