Hi there shipmates...Tis I again??? Just an update here as I have been a little busy since my last post. I have completed the second planking and given the old girl a couple of coats of paint. I then set about attaching the gunwails and had a pig of a time with them because of the bamboo strips would not stay where they were put..lol. So I removed them and used same size box wood gunwales which were easier to shape and to trim. Again just a couple of pictures just to show my progress.jonny7england attached the following image(s): Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...

Hello Jonny, nice paint job, looking really good. I also got rid of the bamboo for real wood it was okay for a first layer but not for a finish.I see you've got a wood chopper thingy in the back ground, that will come in very handy for the rock hard gun port lining strips, I foolishly brought one AFTER fitting my gun ports, Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Excellent work Jonny, she's looking great... .. Can only but agree with you, there is far more to this build than meets the eye but the instructions and this forum make it a build novices can take on with some degree of confidence, I too would recommend it wholeheartedly. .. Good luck with lining those gun ports, tedious job but has to be done. Working in small sessions does help to break up the task.... .. Look forward to seeing your progress.... Regards Alan
