BigGrin Hi All

This kit by Eduard is the ME 110 C Zerstorer Heavy Fighter the Luftwaffe having had delivered 169 C versions by1939 the C version being the same as the B version but with high performance engines. By the time of the Battle of Britain it was found to be outclassed by the modern British fighters in the attack role but was still an excellent defensive fighter when used against the British Bomber formations in the west until the end of the war.

The model I have built is the one flown by pilot Obl.Urban Schlaffer and Gerf. Frantz Obser that was damaged in combat by Spitfires on 16 August 1940 and then having a forced landing near Clapham because of the damage sustained. The Model is finished to represent the early morning with dew that has misted the canopy over on the morning of its fateful flight.

The kit itself is very well moulded with minimum flash and has high detail moulded in along with a high detail cockpit with etch seat belts, the undercariage is also highly detailed. The kit has Eduards pre-painted etch including highly detailed seat belts, a large masking sheet for the cockpit canopy is also included. The instructions are printed on glossy paper with colour pictures of 5 different versions one being for the Battle of France, three for the Battle of Britain and lastly a night fighter version. The decals are provided for all 5 versions you can build. The paints used were AK Interactive's Luftwaffe Camouflages [early war] set.

In conclusion a nicely detailed kit that at 1/48 is a fair size with a good choice of versions to build.

May we all remember those who fought on both sides of this conflict.

Regards

Nice build Andy, well done. Always thought the Me110 was such a cool looking aircraft even if it didn't perform as well as expected in its' intended role as a fighter? Looks a nice kit from Eduard.

BigGrin Thanks everyone for looking in and your comments, this is my 1st Eduard kit it had a few small issues not worth mentioning but the detail is fantastic on these kits that the pics just do not show, the masking set for the canopy is an artwork in itself and a challenge to fitBlink again thanks allCool
