It is with much regret that I am shelving the project. I'm now fed up with looking of a skeleton of my build so she will be relegated to a dark cupboard. If things improve I would love to continue but I have become saddened and disheartened with the whole thing.

Thanks to all for their support and tips over the past months.

Thanks David,

I got so despondent this morning simply because I was enjoying the build so much. The challenge is their for us (and their's many building this) the disabled and retired that rely on a rewarding hobby to keep them occupied.

I put my carer out by asking her take take me to town. I purchased the Lancaster Bomber Dambusters edition. Maybe later when that is finished I will continue with the 'Victory'.

Again David, Thank you!

Hi Paul. I know how you feel and I to have shelved my Victory, although I have not cancelled my order, as, if and when they are sorted, I dont want to be waiting for back issues!!Crying I have stopped building until problems such as Cannon Sizes and Rib 15 have been sorted!!Confused I still have other builds to continue with, and I enjoy the forum.BigGrin Keep looking in on the forum and you may find that things are different and you want to continue. Shame to loose someone else. All the best, Jack. BigGrin

Hi Paul, Stick with it mate. Despite the few issues we have had to start with I think you will find that the work, as the build progresses, will become more time consuming and it won't seem like such an eternity between deliveries. This will be a great model when it's finished, however long it takes. Smile
Jimmy L.

current builds : Lancaster 1/32 (Hachette)
Revell USS Kearsarge
Titanic Lifeboat

I started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

if only Deagostini was to make some effort in explaining what was going on it would not be so bad but its not fair that they leave it all to the admin on here to take the flack for their failings
yes we all expect teething problems but a little communication goes a long way and we would probably understand better what was going on
so Deag please see it from our point of view and stop using the admin as cannon fodder and work with us instead of against us!!!!!!!!!!!

Paul like me you are disabled and have a lot of time indoors to fill or go loopy.
If you are finding that the Victory model is taking too much time look on Ebay for Model kits.
That where I have gotten nearly all mine from and you can pick up some really good deals.
Like I have the AL King of the Mississipi brand new £65 and came with a 15 piece tool kit. The one I'm building at the momment is the Corel Shenandoah was a job lot of 2 kits, the other was a basic dutch kit for £35.
And the good thing is it will get delivered to your door.
It will keep you busy while the Victory supplies build up. Because at the end of the day it is a big kit to have sitting around.
Hope this helps

Thanks Ray,

I went out yesterday and bought the Lancaster Bomber Dambusters edition, strangely enough it was cheaper in the model shop than on ebay. It will serve two purposes.

1. Enjoyment for me.

2. My brother in law was a Wing Commander in the RAF, it will make the perfect Xmas present for him.

The good thing is I still have this forum to chat to all you fine people.

Best wishes, Paul

My math's teacher was Barnes Wallis's son so you could not get much more of a better math's teacher, although he had one great flaw he loved the swiss alps and coach trips though them. So we ended up knowing loads about the swiss alps and not so much math's.
But I got to see one of the bouncing bombs at Brooklands, the size of those things!
And to think they skimmed them across the water amazing.

I have heard(don't know how true it is)that Barnes Wallis got the idea of his bouncing bomb from the gunners of Nelson's time who used skip shots to bounce the cannonballs across the water.

From all that I have read he did, but then perfected the idea by being able to control the bounce and the distance traveled by back spin, height and speed!!!BigGrin
