arpurchase wrote: Nicely done , as for a flat varnish I have been using this one from Hannants for a while now. If watered down with about 25% water it sprays very well, although when brushed it can tend to foam a little so I just spray it now. http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/XA1FF
Regards Andy Cheers Andy, I didnt stop to think to use an acrylic varnish that you use on plastic models on wood, I have a big bottle of Vallejo matt in the cupboard so will give thst a try on a bit of scrap

Nice job Dave, I had a bit of trouble with those gun port strips but you seem to have got them on perfectly Really looking good. Steve

Looking great Dave, I do like the method of the pre-cut gun port strips that attach to the hull makes cutting them out so much easyer as you attach the planking[ A tip here is to cut the planks as they cover the gun ports so you dont lose them]. Also I too stained the gunwales but decided to plank them after they were fitted as it looked better to my eye but its up to you if you decide to plank. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Steve Thanks Steve, the strips did take me a little while to do, I did find the. Quite awkward and a pain to do but am very happy with the reassurance they look perfect as they were a worry

Thanks Andy, I will remember the tip with the gun ports. I've had a look through your diary again and see what you mean about the planking of the gun whales, it does look much better. I might have to copy that too

Hi Dave, Looks like a mighty fine build so far, I do like the precut gunport idea, I wish the sovereign had them.Saves a load of time and hassle marking out the little blighters.
