ggladden wrote:Hi guys just started sots I don't understand why frames 5 and 6 don't get glued if using jig in stage3 why do they get glue thanks for any help Official diary is a great place to study and help you along the way with your build. The one thing I wouldn't do with this build is try building her without using a jib or dry dock as its sometimes known and its very simple to put together. When you have a jig then you can start gluing the frames in place. Hope this helps.. Regards Alan

Regards Paul As I wait for my first package to arrive I've been pouring over the forums here, and I have to say I'm really glad that I picked this kit to start with (I've seen some truly beautiful builds on here), but am particularly glad I found this forum. I've seen nothing but helpful and encouraging responses from everyone here to the many questions that people pose. I think this is going to improve my chance of success tremendously, and (I hope), make this a lifelong hobby for myself. :) Tim Johnson I came here in peace, seeking gold and slaves. - Jack Handy Builds: Sovereign of the Seas, Amati Chinese Pirate Junk

My first shipment just arrived! Feeling pretty excited to get started, but trying to hold myself back a little and take it slow. I need to figure out what size L-brackets I need in order to build a dry-dock. I'd like to have those at the ready before I start... Well, it's really just a delaying tactic to force me to calm down a bit before I start. lol Tim Johnson I came here in peace, seeking gold and slaves. - Jack Handy Builds: Sovereign of the Seas, Amati Chinese Pirate Junk

Hi Broven...I used 2 inch L-brackets for my dry dock, but I waited until I had collected all of the false keel sections and ribs before building the dry dock, that way you will know exactly where to position the L brackets...I quite understand how anxious you are to get started on your build, but building the cannon and anchor will help stave off any anxiety for a while. Looking forward to seeing your first build diary pics...Happy building... Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...
