I have to admit, that my victory is also shelved, but only because i am having trouble finding the time because I play World of Warcraft every evening.

My math's teacher was Barnes Wallis's son so you could not get much more of a better math's teacher, although he had one great flaw he loved the swiss alps and coach trips though them. So we ended up knowing loads about the swiss alps and not so much math's.
But I got to see one of the bouncing bombs at Brooklands, the size of those things!
And to think they skimmed them across the water amazing.

I have heard(don't know how true it is)that Barnes Wallis got the idea of his bouncing bomb from the gunners of Nelson's time who used skip shots to bounce the cannonballs across the water.

From all that I have read he did, but then perfected the idea by being able to control the bounce and the distance traveled by back spin, height and speed!!!BigGrin

Well you can learn something new every day! I never knew that! thats very interestingBigGrin
Pam's shipyard is closed for now no more room!

All you guys that are leaving the build, forum or whatever for whatever reason is not cool. I find most of the posts interesting and helpful, I read your posts before I tackle the next issue. I am also a bit irritated by the moaning because of your perceived or not delivery issues. To put all this into perspective - you guys or most of you guys have royal mail, I wish we had as an efficient postal service as you guys. Whether Deag are at fault or not. Here in deepest darkest Africa we have to put up with postal strikes, government worker strikes, laziness - oh the postie got tired so tipped all the remaining post in the nearest bin. Or the sorters were too busy talking c*** and your parcel ends up on the other side of the country - up to 2000kms away and no one can track or wishes to track it down, or the contents of the parcel gets stolen in the post office, yes in the post office and no one is found guilty or fired or anything. Usually the delivery arrives but that is an example of the problems we can face. So, chill, count yourselves lucky that the parcels will eventually arrive even if they are late. Now lets all enjoy the build, however long it takes and to all the really experienced guys - stay with us - us newbies need your guidance and advice.
Current build : The Victory
Pending builds : none - yet
Built loads of bikes trucks planes and boats - all plastic kits.
on wish list - a 1:24 spitfire, in wood, plastic, just as long as I can build it :)
