All my previous model work has been firmly in the realm of plastic. The few metal parts I've had have been single pieces, and so I've never had to worry about something like this.

I finally got around to opening my stuff the other day to get pictures for the figure scale thread, and one of the cannon halves has a barrel that slides right out of the housing. Is there an easy way to fix that from happening? I've thought about solder, but I don't know how to do that. I'm not sure super glue would have the kind of hold on metal that I'd want. Is there a special glue for die-cast metal modeling?

I'd like to get it fixed before I start priming and what not.

Thanks.

This is common for the parts that are cast in more than one piece to get the detail required. A dab of CA glue does the job. BigGrin

Super glue should do the job as suggested.

If you really dont want to use super glue then something like araldite or similar will do the job.

Hi Lickintoad,
welcome to the forum.I am US forum support so let me know if I can help in any way.

JB weld is as good 2 part expoy that works great on metal too and can be sanded and painted. It has a very strong bond once dry.
