Very tempted to subscribe to this kit after i have finished my 2 mclarens. i have a few questions. Firstly what are they like to run as would like to be able to use it instead of displaying and if i go for the running set up do i have to assemble it like this from the start or is it interchangable when its finished.

also has anyone damaged theirs whilst using it and are they easily damaged.

i see that the radio control is supplied through an order form which comes in 1 of the issues, my question is do you have to pay extra for that when ordering it.

And finally is the 'extension' issues worth doing?

Hi Steve, let me see if I can help.

The instructions first walk you through preparing the car for display, then later on the race body is delivered. Its your choice what you do. Personally, I will be keeping the Display elements sealed up, il likely never use them, even when I display the model (its currently mounted on my wall) i want it obvious its a nitro vehicle and not purely a model. These can be swaped at will later on, but its not a 10 second job.

People have finished the models, but I haven't heard/seen anything RE damage. Its just like anything though, if its driven wrong and mistreated it will break. The good thing is that the engine is a standard Kyosho engine, as are the RC parts. The issues will start after Deagostini stop production as you won't be able to back order issues. The car isn't inherently damageable I guess is what I'm trying to say, but its possible if you're being an a$$ with it :)

If you subscribe via the website (being in the UK, you can do this) the radio kit is included. Its received in its entirety in issue 10 (iirc). No form to fill out and nothing more to pay.

Extra issues depends. Its worth it really to have the extra tyre compounds. The twin speed is cool too. At the end of the day, is it worth is doing the RB7 at all? If it (modelling/RC driving) is something that interest you, then yes. And whilst you're at it, you may as well get the most out of the whole experience by doing the extensions! I probably don't need another 3 sets of tyres and a 2 speed gearbox, but it fully completes the model, so I will be continuing.

Hope that helps :)

Yes that helps thanks. I think I will go for it. Just need to decide whether I subscribe now and save the parts until I finish the mclarens, will be in December, or subscribe when I finish and start building when I receive my 1 st pack.
