Hi Nib, every build is slightly different due to slight variations in the width of the strakes and without seeing any pics of your build it is very difficult to be more specific. I'm assuming by the nature of your question that this is the first plank on frame ship you have built and if so then some research on planking techniques would be a firm recommendation for you. Have a look at the guide here, it really will give you a great understanding of what you are trying to achieve...

You could also look at how applied the 2nd layer of planks on my lower hull. I did it this way as I didn't want to see any of my strakes simply tapering away to a point and wanted mine to look a little more realistic...

There is also a short tutorial here, the area of the ship may be different but the technique is the same.

Lastly for now, I would say use the forum search function and search for the terms such as 'tapering planks'. This will bring up many posts showing different methods that other modellers have used.

If after going through some of the above you still have specific questions then please come back to me and I will try and answer as best I can.....

Good luck and hope to see some pics of your work.

Regards

Alan
