Hi nick, not sure which bit your having trouble with but the sails are just sewn to the yards and the parrels are used to attach the yards to the mast. The beads (trucks)and parrels are threaded on thread like a bracelet and wrapped around the mast and tied each end to the yard. The parrels and trucks allow the yard to go up and down the mast. Hope this helps . Good morning thanks night wisherπ hi gandale I wasnt sure if while your sewing the sail to the yard that you also have to use the same cotton thread without cutting it to attach the parallel aswell all in one go if that makes sense π on the bench soverign of the seas & hms hood , collecting hms victory

hi Nick the parrel is made with two pieces of .25 thread . It is then tied round the yard after you have fitted the sail to the yard . If you look in issue 124 picture 27 it shows how it should look Hope this helps rgd Martyn Building ? Completed. Soliei Royal . Sovereign of the Seas . Virginia . Scotland . San Felipe . Glad you got it sorted nick,I too have been playing around with the main sail, trying to get a furled look to it.After the best part of a week I have come up with a sort of half furled version that I'm quite happy with. Will take some pics later.
