I've been working on and off my model for the past 5 years but without help and guidance and not really knowing what I had let myself in for I found that I have made a few mistakes and progress was slow. Hopefully I will get some good tips here and look forward to hearing your advice and thoughts. So without further ado here is my model so far starting about issue 50

Thanks all for looking at the pics. So far positive comments. The planking was a bit of a mess but I am going to continue on in spite of this and work on the premise that it didn't happen. For now I will be planking the decks and stuff and concentrating on getting that right.

Ive decided to lo-res my camera settings and see what happens. Done some work on the cannons and unfortunately had a few mishaps but from what I understand of the build instructions most of this will not be visible, probably just as well in my case. I've decided to leave out the part where it says the main rope is optional and also very fidgety. I have all the tackle in place and all that remains now to do is insert the metal pins into the predrilled holes. I've posted a pic of some damage to the front which broke off - I have managed to repair by placing a piece of balsa over the crack which I hope to sand off later but will keep in place for strength until i get ready to work on that part. crustybaps attached the following image(s):

Hi, have to admit the fitting of the cannons and all the tackle is a real fiddly and time consuming, at least until you find a technique that suits you then it's not so bad.... .. Shame about the mishap but it is repairable. Should you need assistance to carry out the repair then give us a shout when you get round to that part.... .. Regards Alan

Thanks Alan, I'll post an ariel view of the damage as it looks a bit off to one side when seen from above- if you look at the top pic you will see a line where it was sheared off completely and i've used epoxy and some balsa wood sheet to strengthen things up a bit. Well fixing and repairing this sort of thing is all part of the fun I guess coming up with solutions.
