Hi Alan
Lost contact with you all (my fault) and slow progress. I have read a lot of comments re lining the top row of gun ports. and would like confirmation of the following. My understanding is the linings are 3mm wide, which I interpret to mean the linings will protrude 1mm past the inside of the strakes. I have made a sketch which shows this. If this is correct I will use the preformed linings as used on the two lower decks.

Regards, Peter

Hi Peter, you are correct. The lining for the gunports do protrude inside the bulwarks by some 1mm, they should also be recessed on the front of the port. Before going down the route of using pre-formed linings you need to remember the inside of the ports on the main deck will be a feature that is seen on the finished model. The inside of the linings need to protrude by 1mm as you will be adding planks to the inner bulwarks around these ports, then you will be sanding everything flush before painting. I would go by the instructions for the upper ports on the main deck, the ones that will be visible from the inside of the model anyway....

Hope this helps..

Regards

Alan
