The area on top of the tank is a bit sparse in this kit so I'm adding a few things. I made an electrical isolator switch from some 0,1mm steel and a piece of plastic sprue, cut to length and glued on. Drilled a small haole in the rear and added a wire.RM1 attached the following image(s):

It will fit something like this. I need to add a black spot to resemble the hole with the switch handle.RM1 attached the following image(s):

T he water pipes that run from the back of the engine have hose connections clamped on. I cut a couple of bits of plastic sleeve, sprayed blue and fitted to the painted pipes. Haven't decided how to do the hose clamps yet.RM1 attached the following image(s):

Some self adhesive aluminium foil cut into a thin strip and wrapped onto the tubes to look like the hose clamps.RM1 attached the following image(s):

The pipes get positioned at the rear of the cylinder heads.RM1 attached the following image(s):

I've added the electronic ignition box plus some wires and the oil cooler which I strapped on with PE hose clamps.RM1 attached the following image(s):

Strangely there is no rear red light on this model. RM1 attached the following image(s):

I had to make that light to prevent ferrari having James disqualified again ! . I cut the spherical sprue end from a clear moulding runner. Gave it a quick spray of metallic red and mounted on a thin metal plate. The only pictures I could find of this car show a light mounted on the wing post but I think that may be a more modern addition? Anyway I'm happy with my effort it's 3.5mm dia so to scale about 70mm which seems about right. Malc.RM1 attached the following image(s):

Another bit of improvisation. Saw this on the uk Senna 4/4 build. creating a braided hose by rolling a solder wire under a file. I put some painted tube on the end for connection. Not too bad. Malc.RM1 attached the following image(s):

Fitted those hoses to the underside of the oil cooler.RM1 attached the following image(s):

Some very nice scratch-building there Malc and I love that tip for making the braided hoses from solder. They look great done with the file though I was just wondering if the effect could be made even better by using a medium coarse sandpaper or nail file? Might be worth a try maybe?
Looking great Malc keep up the good work!!

Kev Hi Kev, thanks for the suggestion. I tried a couple of different file cuts before I got one that is reasonably coarse so as to give an almost knurled look. Malc.

Thought you might have.
This is a really cool mod and one which I'd never thought of, though I will definitely be pinching that idea at some point when needed!!
Love what you are doing with this kit Malc, really makes me want to drag my own half finished build of the same kit back out of its' box and do some more to it!!
