Put some more ribs on the main ship, added the keel to the launch, filled, sanded and primed the launch for 5 days, also added the fenders somehow (I don't want to remember this part, sometimes I wake up screaming in the night) There's some potential left for improvement, but I already sanded myself a fine hole in the hull on day 3 and I don't really want to do that again. So I declare issue 8 to be done. All that much of the hull won't be seen in the finished build anyway.

Thank you all Issue 9 Filed the oar slots into the launchs gunwale and installed a bow brace which promptly cracked during the process. Turned out to make the whole thing infinitely easier. Would recommend. Also we've now got some colour. And a tiny anchor.

Thanks everyone. Jotikas Admiralty colours turn out to be much better than I expected after seeing some reviews. Most people complain about their high liquidity and bad coverage. And they ARE a little bit too thin for brush work. But by the third coat coverage is actually pretty good. I can't complain so far.

Hi Greyhawk, the launch looks good to me. If you can plank the launch you can plank anything. I see you've not gone for the new peach beige lemon colour then, don't blame you,by the time the models finished the experts will probably change their mind again. Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

I actually like the peach beige quite a lot. I just don't trust changes. The admiralty colour set has been used for a long time by a lot of modelers. The peach beige is just too new for me. Where do I get it? How well does it brush? How well will it keep it's colour over time? Nobody knows. Not gonna touch that one yet. Maybe in Victory 2.0.

The Admiralty colours are a high pigment colour and where most people go wrong with it is the pre stir/mix because if not stired properly you will get iffy coverage. The secret is to stir mix until you think its ok then do it again or if you still have one use the Humbrol paint shaker to mix them up. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

That's true too, I think I'll be building bigger forearms from all the stirring. No, but really, I've got a Tamiya stirring stick, which is awesome as you can scoop up all the actual color that tends to sit down on the bottom of the vial.

I agree with your observation the bow brace needs a lot of sanding to fit, cutting it in half at the keel notch makes fitting much easier. build is looking great - keep the pics coming jase “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Issue 12 Got more ribs. We're slowly but surely reaching the end. I whittled the windlass, placed it and outfitted the stern with rails. Don't know what the corner blocks were intended for, certainly not my boat. Had a try at getting them to fit, almost broke one, lost them three times on wood colored flooring, got fed up, screamed a little (silently, it was deep in the night) and just plonked them on there, because no one is going to see this anyway with the boat being stowed. I may or may not fill up the gaps at a later date. (Probably will do it tomorrow knowing myself) Can't wait to get to work more with the actual ships wood, which isn't prone to break by looking at it closely. Still waiting for the first delivery of the cross section. It's been over two months now, the Victory is 10% finished and I've heard nothing from the distributer but bad excuses yet.
