The last Australian survivor of the escape from Stalag Luft 111 has died after a fall, the escape celebrated by the 1963 film of the same name was not his favorite film 'there were no yanks there or motorbikes' he said. A brave man who can now rest in peace.

Sad to see him pass, what a great guy and very unlucky to be shot down and captured so early in the war, having to then endure five years of abject boredom, deprivation and fear? May he rest in peace.
