Just had a good read through this great build, and all I can say is that you have now really upset me. I was going to do an out of the box build but seeing your build I am tempted to add some detail. Well I am waiting till I have about half the bits before I start so have plenty of time to decide. Keep up the good work and keep posting so I can use some of your good ideas.

All right. Have been able to do some more work. Since I have all the parts, I decided to put together the 2 corridor sections.









Looks cool. So then it's time for the pain in the ass part and do all those little cushions for the arches and the sides of the corridors.








I'm just using my Tamiya pastels to do the dirt and grime on the cushions.











Lookin pretty good.








I then also painted and weathered the floor.


So, doing a little frame by frame of Empire, you can see in these photos that some of the cushions have been removed to do some modifications or repair work.


Sorry. Photos had to be removed. But I'm sure most of you would know what I'm talking about, and you can see in my photos below.


So I've decided to do the same to mine as well. Fortunately, I decided this before gluing the cushions down. So I gathered up some various wire and started at it.





Bending some to match the photos from the film






And filling in the indents where the cushions glue in. Although I don't know that this really needed to be done, cause it would probably not been seen.










And Voila!








I did both sections of the corridor.












Now it's starting to get pretty cool.

Nice work on your Corridors Colson

It sure does look good!

I've been looking at some photos of the Falcon from the Anaheim Celebration when they showed off the model. Looking at some of these photos with the top panels off, exposing the inside. I gotta tell you, it's very difficult to see into the corridors for one. Some of the detail I've done I don't know if you'll honestly be able to see.

So, I'm curious about others of you think. I'm now thinking about have the hold on display as it's own model, with the Falcon never open. I don't know. Just something I'm thinking about. I've still got another, Ouch, 1 1/2 years to decide before it'll be finished. But with all the work being put into the interior, it'd really be a shame to have a difficult time seeing it.

Removing the interior is an interesting idea. I just wonder if there are any structural issues if you remove the interior piece from the model. None of the builds are far enough along yet to see how it all fits together.

I like how you replaced some of the hallway cushions with the open wiring. I was wondering if anyone was going to try that. Are you planning on adding the light fixtures that appear on the upper cushions as well?

I had thought about doing the cushion lighting as well, and the floor lighting along the edges. I've done some tests for the floor lighting to figure out how to do it best. Again, fortunately plenty of time for that.

Nice work with that work Colson. This keeps reminding me that I need to crack on and get my hold repainted as I want to change from a very dirty look to more of a clean look with just a bit of cargo dust in the corner. I've also got a stack of fibre optics that need plumbing in
