Hi all well it arrived today and it is mahoosive that is a 1/12 kit box on top of it just to give you an idea of its size these are the sprues there are 3 or 4 sprues to each bag just for comparison (the rule devides the too model kits) the camaro has 1 sprue to each bag apart from the black sprues and that has 2 sprues one tip I've already learned do not take the sprues out of the box as you wont get the all back in and shut the lid (unless you have a degree in astrophysics) that is, this is one case where the box is not big enough. Hi I've been given a superb idea for this, I am going to have it in a barn being readied for a mission by the French resistance with the cross of lorraine and a tricolour on it, the possibilities are endless, need to find some 1/8 figures and things like bren guns or make them from scratch I've been doing some research and this was available in blue irise (which is apparently a course metallic where the flakes aluminum were bigger than modern colours) if I can find I will do it that colour or ac615 blue marine which it was also available in, since I'm on hols from Monday I won't be starting it for a while (lots of other stuff to finish first) but (assuming I can get internet) being on hols will give me lots of time for research. Lovely work Ken... Would you be willing to share some of your secrets, especially how you achieved this look on the manifold? Thanks :) Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.
Happy building :-) http://www.model-space.com/gb/

I don't have any secrets mate, we all learn from eachother. It's just the salt method, you paint your rust colour first (this method is usually done with an airbrush but my brother asked me how I did it and he doesn't have one so this was all done with a brush)allow that to completely dry then get some sea salt and table salt(to give different texture )put water on the manifold (or whatever your doing)where you want the rust then sprinkle the salt over where the water is, allow thecwater to dry then (if using a brush, use the softest one you have and things the paint to ab consistency and food the area (very gently))put the top colour on, allow that to dry, then using a stiff brush scrub the salt off, I have a few brushes I didn't clean off properly so the bristles a stuck together and stiff I find these ideal for this task. The manifold is not finished yet needs a coat of matt varnish to fix what I have then a few washes just to add grime. Ken's the name modeling's the game.
