I really want one, but I doubt my phone would work with him.

A friend of mine has this BB8.He is a bit disappointed with it.It is very hard to control with the phone and the sound comes out of the phone and not the droid itself.it also likes to crash into things if you put it in random movement mode.

I got one today and my overall impression is its good but not quite as good as the advert makes out.

The sound coming from the phone is a bit disappointing but I got over it and its not quite as intelligent as the ad makes out.

I like the fact that its a little difficult to control as it makes it more fun. In the auto mode the droid actually remembers the location of obstacles and will not go into the same thing twice. There are also plenty of sensor readings to have a look at and a little written log the droid keeps on each run.

Apparently its going to get more features as the films release gets closer which it does really need to justify the high price.

Still if you are a Star Wars fan, love droids and gadgets then its a no brainer! Drool

I am eager to see what the dog thinks of it Flapper
