I just finished a conversion of the USS Intrepid turning it into the USS Oriskany CVA-34. If anyone is interested I will post my diary.

You need to resize your photos to approx 600x450 for them to appear on the forum as images rather than as downloads

In the process f deciding on this build a little history might help. I served onboard the USS Oriskany CVA-34 in 72-73. Seeing as you cannot get an Oriskany model I decided to build another Essex Class Carrier and modify it into the Oriskany. So I chose the Intrepid CV-11 made by MRC 1:350 scale.

After choosing the model had to locate everything I needed for the conversion. There are a lot of great conversion kits available each being able to help create the authenticity of the ship. I wound up to paying close to $500 for the model and all the extras but I think it was well worth it.

I will start with unpacking the kit and tomorrow I will discuss the extra parts I putchased,
