Thanks everyone. I used the Shelac and did about 4 coats to get the colour I wanted and then I pinched one of the wifes nail buffer pads :) they have 4 different grades of buffers on each side which gave me the smoothnes of a french polish like efect, they are also nevy good to buf anf polish just about anything. I wish I had better instructions on the planking for this model but I will plod along and hope for the best. :) Eugene.

Hi Eugene Very nice work on the planking colour I to am a fan of shellac as it gives a nice warm look to the wood another alternative I like to use is Danish oil it too gives the same sort of finish. If you look at my Trinny build you can see the decks have had coats of danish oil. Keep up the good work. Regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

In the instructions is says there are 3 planks at the top of the pood deck but that would have left a gap which didnt seem right to me so I added the extra spline to fill it in, could anyone else who has done this modle conferm if I was right or wrong in doing so.:)

Well it has been a long time since I posted as my Bi Polar and sun-downers syndrome got a hold on me there for a while and I had to change meds etc to try and get back to normal so I will be posting some updates shortly. Eugene.

Hi Eugene! I've been following your posts as I've just bought the same kit and started to build it about a week ago. I hope you're feeling better. I really need a mate to help me with this build! Very poor instructions by AL!
Cheers

Art Hi Art, first of all a very warm welcome to the forum, you have come to the right place for assistance. I think you will find you will have a lot of mates on this forum ready to help you out but I would seriously consider starting up a build diary, that way we can see how you're progressing and we would be better informed to help you out when needed.... Regards Alan

Looking great. Love the infills before the planking. Lovely and smooth. Chris On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.
