so today i had an extra issue 1 arrive in the post.

the postman had actually folded the massive issue in half causing creases and all sorts to the issue, damaged the dvd case and snapped one of the wooden parts.

no it is a spare so not such an issue but i still took it to the sorting office and THREW it through the hole in the counter with the gray bag and said "what the F**K do you call this kind of service?"

the bloke on the other side looking somewhat dazed and confused went and got the manager who decided to go and tell me the following..

"this kind of damage cannot be prooven that it was our employees and should be taken up with the sender"

so i fustratedly explained that deagostini is not in the business of folding a part work parcel in half causing damage to thier product and if this is not sorted out i will be going to the solicitors and sueing royal mail.

he then went on to say he will investigate the matter further and will endeavour to have any parcels like this sent by royal mail van and if it cannot be put through without folding, bending or damaging a card will be left.

he also asked what the issue cost and paid for it out of his pocket lol.

but its another fine example of what we risk by having royal mail deliver these to our door.

but it was really annoying and i lost my temper when it arrived hence throwing the issue through the counter hole. the bloke on other side wasnt in the way u would like to state. if he was i would have just slammed in on the counter instead.

I am luckt that my postman lives next door so if I'm not home he just takes them to his house and pops them round when he see's I'm in.

Can't beat that service LOL

We do not have a regular postie. Mostly I have to say they are great. One lady postie actually knocked on the door to hand deliver my parcel of titanic lifeboat parts which would have easily gone in the latterbox saying "They felt so delicate I didn't want to damage them"Scared OhMyGod RollEyes Definitely a "carry on" moment. On the other hand my earlier deliveries of lancaster parts arrived in more parts than intended thanks to a ninja postman who arrived quietly and unseen and seemed to think that anything larger than a standard envelope was a personal challenge.Crying

Oh Well, thats life.BigGrin

current builds : Lancaster 1/32 (Hachette)

I started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I would have thought the packages would have been covered in DO NOT BEND notices although no doubt some postal workers would take it as a challenge. Mine are just left proped up in the porch for any passer-by to steal if inclined. Fortunatly the nieghbours are honest as one parcel waited all weekend when I was away. So I'm not sure what the solution is apart from predictable delivery times as I don't want to have to go to the sorting office every month.Confused

Quite funny.... We had some legal documents going back and forth and for the obvious reasons they were always sent bu both sides by recorded delivery, meanin they must be signed for.

Well one set came whilst we were in, but no knock at the door - was just shoved through the letter box with no request for signature. Didnt even have the barcode strip removed to put on his pad. Was annoying since we were in and had he knocked he would have had his signature. Didnt do anythin gabout it as though would be a one off!

About a week of so later I was stood by the front door on the inside of the house when the mail came through the letterbox, to include the next installment of legal docs by recorded delivery - And still no knock at the door and signature taken. So I tried to find my keys to unlock the door to have a go, but by the time I found them he had gone. Cheek of it was I was even stood behind the door!!!!

So I went down to sorting office, funnily enough to pick up my set of partworks for the victory and I brought it up with the guy behind the counter. He gave me the number of the manager for my area and I rang. Left a message with another manager about it and he said instead of wait for that manager he would deal with it as he took this issue very seriously.

Had a phone call back about an hour later to say they were pulling the guy into an investigation about it, however in teh mean time asked if I would be in on the saturday about 10am. Said I would be and asked why - to be told that the postman in question was going to come around in person to apologise for his actions. Found it hilarious!

LOVE IT! i've had the same thing though! recorded items in letter box, barcode strip in tact on envelope.

and i read somewhere they want to make it a privately wned business or summat?

either way thats gunna mean cost cutting and worse service to an already shakey company, royal mails pacelforce is just as bad.

i ordered a hand made authentic sword, missed the delivery so went to sorting office. parcel force guy was there n saw the box my sword was in. he picked it up by one end, dropped other end on floor, lifted it so it was verticaly, WASNT gentle when the bottom hit the foor. then he chucked it onto the counter.

i flew past the que threw barrier outta the way n decked him square in the jaw.

when asked why by the staff i explained the sword was very delicate. which is why it was PLASTERED in handle with care stickers and that too harder bang would weaken the blades integrity. £500 compensation from parcelforce and guy got sacked.

my postie, is brilliant,he know what is what, letters come through the letterbox, build parts,he ringd the bell, and hands them to me,and the parcelforce guy, puts them inside my door, and has even stopped me in my car and given them to me.so posties in chesterfield well done and give yourself a pat on the back.

I don't have problems either,
I am quite lucky as My mum runs a Pub and most of the local posties and sorting office people go in there so they know me. So any parcels go to my mums(which is only across the road) if I am not in.

Chris..
On the bench

I think you are lucky not to have been prosecuted for assault.
If I had been the recipient of your unprovoked attack I would
have insisted upon your arrest.
Dropping something, however expensive is not reason to attack someone.

yeah you might be right. bu tthen your also bias in the fact your an ex police officer.

but to be perfectly honest, it wouldnt have lead to a conviction. end of the day it was provoked. in the manner of the fact he was mishandling delicate goods.

plus he could have been. but i would have simply countered with the mishandling of delicate goods as mentioned above. that is usually enough to drop any charges.

but what ever, i didnt mention it forced the guy to get a better job and is actually better off now. to yeah it backfired. so lay ur guns down and disband the shooting squad yeah?
oh and it doesnt mater how rational someone is. everyone has thier breaking point. just some are so high it takes an extreme amount to get them to perform such an act.
