I am sure many of you are aware of this product and some of you aware of its application in the model building world but for those of you who don't...
Decorators Sugar Soap is an excellent degreasing product for plastic. I purchase it in the spray bottle seen here which is particularly handy if you want to de-grease a large plastic ships hull for example. simply spray on and wipe down.
For small parts on sprue decant some into warm water and soak the parts, unlike washing up liquid this will not leave residue behind.https://www.toolstation.com/shop/p28874?mkwid=s1NQqet1y_dc&pcrid=142478673562&pkw=&pmt=&product=28874&gclid=Cj0KEQjwnazLBRDxrdGMx-Km4oQBEiQA “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

I started building models nearly 30 years ago and have always washed the parts leave them on the sprue's get a bowl and some warm water + a small amount of washing up liquid dunk the sprue's in leave a few minutes rinse and leave to air dry....what this washing process does is it takes away the mould releasing agents that the makers use by doing this you have an excellent grease free surface which in turn will paint adhere better

MeffMan :) Same. I actually use my normal daily dish water. Dump the plastic parts in, wait a little, retrieve the parts, do the actual dishes.
