Wow. Your details to the hold is terrific. You make it look easy. Really nice work! Where is a good source for the EL wire? I've never used it but would like to start.

If you have a soldering iron, you can use that remaining EL wire.

Would you be willing to share the photos you used for the maintenance pits and the small room off the hold? That looks like a great way to handle those areas.

Your printed photo references work really well. I want to build the room for the circuit bay, but I'm not sure how much I'll do with the floor bays. If I decide not to have the hold in the ship, then I'll probably do something similar to what you did.

So here is the floor hatch and doorway photos I did to print out and put behind the model. It's just links to download. Doing a forum type of post changes the actual size of the image. This way should work. I downloaded myself and tested. Now I print my artwork from photoshop, so I don't know if printing from preview or something will change the size. Just make sure whatever you print from, print actual size.

So I did a bit more work on my hold this past weekend. For starters, I pretty much finished up the second arch wall. What I've done, and I believe I've already mentioned once, is take pieces from my old MPC Falcon model and decided to use them as greeblies. Mostly the outer body insert pieces and some of the hull itself.






So for the wall, I used some of this.







Added some wire, resulting in this.





But I've also decided that I don't want to use the printed paper for the doorway. I'm going to make my own room with greeblies.








Then painted...





Added a little flooring...






And added to the wall.







I like the way it turned out. Definitely adds depth and looks like there's really something back there.





I also cut out some other greeblies to finish the wall of the bunk as well.













I'm also trying to make everything myself from scratch if at all possible. Nothing against 3D printed pieces, and I may
even get some myself for the crates and barrels for the hold, but I want to try and keep the build all me if possible. So
I decided to try and make my own beams for the bunk wall by cutting out pieces of styrene.












Then a thicker styrene for the inside of the beam...










Resulting in this.







Then used some styrene i-beam and glued the beams to it.















And here's what I have so far, unpainted as of yet.

Agreed outstanding work and to make from scratch or take off other kits is the way to do it, I just wish I had some old kits to work with am starting over from nothing guess I need to hunt down some clearances someplace

If you're referring to the arduino board I mentioned, there's all different kinds on Amazon. At this point, I'm not even really sure which one I'm going to get. I still need to figure all that out, but I've still got a little over a year.

I found a great source for LEDs without having to purchase anything extra. They make them in large, meduim, small, extra small, and micro and all are prewired and easy to use. They even have self flashing LEDs in all the colors both fast and slow flashing. No need for a board or anything extra and you should be able to run up to 50 of them off the power supply that comes with the kit. Really good prices and easy to use LEDs.
