I'm watching the new set of YouTube videos on the Model-Space channel, and in issue 19, the guy doing the demo says at 25 seconds: "look closely into the magazine or PDF download instructions". Are these PDF versions only available to UK buyers, or can US buyers get them too? I'd love to have digital versions of the instructions to have on my portable devices, particularly if they're the full magazines.

I'm sure they could easily make them available to US subscribers if they wanted to.

Absolutely no material reason for this position. The copyright is held BY DeAgostini. When I subscribed (I'm in Canada), digital files were promised, and the first issue was already available. That first digi-pack (18 pages) is still listed and can be downloaded as a PDF! Shabby Customer Service, Model Space. dowbyhuz attached the following image(s):

Can I ask where it was promised that you would get the .pdf files? I have asked the administrator of this forum about this and will get back to you

Hi, Carl.
I can look, but I'm not certain I kept it. Didn't think I would have to.
In the early release details it was said that all assembly guides would be mirrored by a downloadable version. Easy as pie, I thought (and know).
Can't understand all the secrecy and "prove it" attitude.
Best, Dave

The "IJN Akagi" already has five (5) downloadable assembly packs. What's the difference with the Falcon? dowbyhuz attached the following image(s):

The Akagi isn't a magazine subscription, that's the difference

Best, Dave Dave it is not a "prove it" attitude at all.I just wanted to know where the inaccurate information was that needed to be corrected. The Falcon is produced under License from Disney and they determine what is allowed in each country the kits are offered in.If DeAgostini does not follow the details of the license agreement that could cause problems. I was told previously that the downloadable .pdf were not available in USA, just the UK. I have asked DeAgostini for further clarification and I will post as soon as I have a response. Regards Carl

Thanks, Carl. Forgive me for sounding (being) so argumentative. It's been a day.
It'd be nice to have the PDF's available, but I understand bureaucracy. Believe me. ;)

I can barely stand up from operating on a 200lb Mastiff today so it has been a day for me too!! Admin are discussing the .pdf issue and I should have more information shortly. Regards, Carl

Any additional information on this yet? I feel like us NON-UK subscribers got the shaft on more than a few items...

The UK customers have to pay extra for PDF version of magazines. And I might be wrong but it all might be down to a VAT tax status - you can't claim that something is a magazine valued £8.99 per issue, with just some collective attached, if you then freely give it away. The VAT rate for magazines is 0%, for model kits it's 20% Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.
Happy building :-) http://www.model-space.com/gb/
