Looks great jonny, I used proper wood on curves too (respect to you guys who stuck to the bamboo) I also made them a couple of mm taller cut and fitted the gun frames and sanded the tops to size after, stopped them breaking at the top. Isnt it great doing this stuff after all that planking. Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Hi Jonny Thought I'd have a squiz at your build as you mentioned it was about the same stage as mine. It looks really good and I can see a couple of things I wish I'd done the same way... 1/ Midships gratings are above the deck and look great... 2/ You have used a softer wood on the curved bulkheads - I used bamboo and know it's going to be murder cutting the round holes in it... 3/ What is the colour (dark red) you have used? I used the bright red and it seems a bit too bright to me. The only other colour I have in the red range is the burgundy and that is too dark for my liking... Regards JohnP

Afternoon shipmates...It has been a good few weeks since my last posting and I have been busy with many chores but I still managed to get some work done on my Sovereign. I had reached the point where I must add the first of many of Sovereign's decorations and made a start on cleaning, filing and painting the parts. I am posting pictures of my progress so far:jonny7england attached the following image(s): Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Looking really nice with the bling going on. You have to be very precise with the placement of these frame parts as the decorations that fit inside are a tight fit in places, looks like you've got them spot on.
