I hate to say this, but you might find that the planks don't glue to the painted ribs and blocks very well. Glue often doesn't give a strong bond to paint. If wood needs sealing before glueing, I would only use watered down PVA. PVA will bond to bare balsa very well. I used to use it when making RC aircraft (many years ago !)
However, You've done a superb job of filling in with balsa and it looks like it will make planking a lot easier.

cheers mark..i know what you mean.the paint is very thin and soaked right into the balsa, before planking i will go over it with fine wet and dry and use super glue to fix the planking.. hopefully will be ok cheers benny

benny nice job on the flooring,why not try the 3 stagger that victory employed.? what size floorboards,3x1mm.?or .05x3mm.?i'm going to use 3x1mm. x 80mm.roughly scale length of 21ft. thanks karl there 3x1.this deck cant be seen i was just testing my decking and caulking.. in that picture i have only decked a third of the deck so i may try to stagger the last two thirds again for practice ..paul cheers benny

have now planked all the 2nd deck just as practise for the caulking but when it comes to the decks that will be seen i will plank using the 3 stagger that karl informed me about..i have applied 2 coats of danish oil and the caulking was done by using a black marker pen on the edges    cheers benny

the first deck gun ports are cut out,tricky job i only made one mistake (see arrow) i cut it a mil to high,its only a mil but it stands out nothing a bit of filler wont sort out after framing   cheers benny

Hate to be the one to tell you, but there are some very important measurements coming up for the bulwark planking heights, and where some of the tops of the bulwarks are going to be marked and reduced in height, might be a little awkward for you, but with a little luck you'll manage it okay.
