Nice to see another aircraft build starting up K8 and I'm glad it's a Liberator, one of my favourite WWII bombers Cool ThumpUp

This Airfix kit looks to be one of their older moulds with raised rivet detail and raised panel lines, just re-boxed with new decals, but I built the original version way back when I was younger and I remember it was a nice model back then? From what I've seen in other more recent builds it can still be made into a very nice model and I'll be looking forward to watching your build develop - well done!!

I quite like the 'Olive drab over grey' RAF SE Asia version, especially with the two-tone blue roundels and black and white striped tail markings - very nice!! Drool Love

It is an old airfix in a new box which is a shame because the new airfix moulds are very good quality. This one will be done in the olive drab.Paint number 155.It looks better than just boring silver.Paint number 11.The silver one "Kentucky Belle" was based at Suffolk England. The olive drab "Wandering Witch"was based at South East Asia.

Some small progress

Nice work K8, loving the olive drab scheme and those 'shadow' figures in the waist gunners' positions look very good. Are they just flat cut-outs or actual 3D figures from the kit? Whatever, they look very effective when viewed through the opening that's for sure and a nice touch!!

How are you finding this 're-released' older moulding from Airfix, is it going together fairly easily or a bit of a loose fit in places? Interested to hear your view on the kit. Keep up the good work K8 and glad to see a B-24 build on the forum - well done again!! Cool ThumpUp
