Hi everyone, I started this in the discussion forum before I woke up to where it should be, it takes a while to catch on sometimes. So here's my build up to stage 21. I decided to paint the model and therefor I am painting components as I proceed. Alec alemo attached the following image(s): Built: Bluenose, Arab Dhow, HMS Bounty, Hummer H1, D51, Spitfire,E type Jaguar. In Progress: HMS Victory, , Yamaha YZR-M1

A little more progress, leaf springs and equalisers fitted. One pair of wheels painted, three pairs in primer. One small problem, I dropped an equaliser bush on the floor and found it eventually three feet from where it fell. I have lots of spare screws but no spare bushes, I haven't dropped a screw yet! Hi Gr33n1e, Paint is acrylic Railmatch 2412 weathered black which was recommended by arpurchase. It goes on better with an airbrush but if not available get good quality brushes and use a primer either way. Degreasing is essential on all parts before painting. Hope this helps. Looking at fitting the wheels and I find that the axles are 10mm dia and the axle blocks have an aperture of 10.5mm dia. When put together it seems a very sloppy fit which may be required for the drive motor to power all eight wheels but seems a bit excessive. Has anyone else found this and is it right? Here is the latest to my build, drive wheels and connecting rods all fitted, wheels still feel a bit sloppy in the axle boxes, maybe when sitting on the rollers this will not matter. All connecting rods fitted nicely, one not so good thread that would not start the screw but easily rectified by running a spare screw in from the opposite direction. Alec yes that is correct. It is not a very tight fit, but once the connecting rods are set up and the motor installed it is a bit more solid. However, it is still loose.I don't think this train would do well actually running on a track. The stand has it running on bearings. I thought the same thing when building, but it does run pretty well on the bearings. You are doing a fine job building this kit Alec. Carl

This giant is growing. Here's an update. I found that the sand pipes wanted to go their own way instead of where I wanted them but I won in the end, other than that all went well so far. Just a small update, the back head is finished and waiting for the cab. The gauges are from roymattblack and the pipes are 1mm gauge wire and will need trimming to fit the floor.
