It will work and have used it myself, needs to be left for a few minutes and the parts will loosen leaving a sticky residue that can be wiped off. You will certainly have to test it on any painted surface though as it will take paint off as well. Acetone, or nail polish remover works well too (i mainly use this to remove any CA from metal) but again, always test as it will have a different effect on different materials and paints etc. Steve
