I have always really liked the Chieftain tank, it is probably still my favourite British tank.

Takom have produced what looks to be a very nice kit. The box is stuffed full of plastic, this also contains one of the biggest sprues that I have ever seen in a plastic kit Blink. I have also seen that Meng are also working on a Chieftain.

The sprues all look to be very well molded but there is some very minor flash present here and there.

The instructions are very clear and look easy to follow with what looks like pictures of the CAD model showing the where the parts fit very well. Im actually really impressed with the way the manual has been done.

The paint guide is a fold card containing several different paint schemes, I will decide which one I will be doing when I come round to building this.

The tracks are the single link tracks that seem to be popular now but what is interesting with this kit is that they come loose in a small ziplock bag which will save a lot of time removing from the sprue and the clean up. However the track pads are still on sprues.

For now this will be added to the ever growing stash

Hi Dave,

Looks a good kit from what I have seen, I had a e-mail about this model from e-models and nearly brought it, so I will be with you on this one, thanks for posting.

That's one lovely kit. Wonder how it will compare to Meng's oncoming offering...
