 Hi All I have always liked the old racing cars and the Alpha has been a favorite for years I would have liked it to be 1/12 but its a sweet little kit and it wasnt called the 'Little Alpha' for nothing, Fangio and Bonetto ruled the race track driving this car in the early 50s. The kit arrives in a black understated box with just the end sticker and MFH on the top. Opening the box reveals the decals and instructions above metal parts wrapped in bubble wrap, a plastic container holding the white resin parts, four rubber tyres, some turned aluminium wheel hubs, the chassis and a bag containing screws,rivets, springs, wires, turned ali inner hubs and some faux brown leather for the seat. All the white metal parts a very well cast with high detail and minimal casting marks but will still need a general clean up. The white resin parts are of the same quality again with high detail and minimal if any flash. The ali wheels are nicely turned and the tyres well moulded. The instructions are clear and have a paint as you build type of format its only when you look closely that the detail starts to show through like the leaf springs all being made up of individual parts and the same for the front grill. The decals are of the usual high quality Japanese type and provide the flash of yellow around the front grill. The paint I have chosen for this kit is zero paints white undercoat along with Alpha red. This is great little kit with detail that just blows you away there not cheap to buy but well worth every penny in my opinion. Although not a kit for the novice any one that has a good grounding with building models will produce a first class model and something to be proud of. Looks a fabulous kit Andy and I agree, there is something special about the old wire-wheeled Alfas. MFH produce some stunning model car kits, with great detail and I have no doubt that you will make an equally stunning job of building this model - a very nice choice.

THis looks like an amazing kit.Reminds me of the Tameo superkits, but in a larger scale.Look forward to seeing this come together.

Hi Kev Your right about the old alpha's I was looking at the old Pocher Alpha kit but chose this one as although smaller is much more detailed. I also have in my stash the 1/12 Ferrari 312 which I call the spaggetti car due to the twisting exhaust manifolds on top of the engine. There is more metal in this kit the resin being the engine block ,gearbox and the two differently shaped nose cones, oh and you get the driver figure as a bonus item [ it has two heads so im presuming its of the two different drivers] but also the price is higher. Yes, the Pocher Alfa looks nice but I think as you say, that on balance, the MFH is a more desirable and more detailed model despite it's smaller size and actually from what I've read about quite a few of the Pocher kits, they aren't as easy to put together as you would expect for the prices they demand? I know you are a busy guy Andy but any idea when you might start this build as I'll be keen to watch it develop?
Haven't really been away from the forum (I've been looking in), just been concentrating on other things so I haven't posted for a while, but I'm not going anywhere and hoping to continue with my current builds as and when I can get the time, especially my 1:32 Tamiya Spitfire. Hoping to at least get the Merlin engine finished in the next few weeks.

I had the Pocher Alfa, but I sold it.The wheels and chassis were well detailed, but the engine and body were not that great.I have the DeAg lambo and that is much better quality than the old Pocher kits.Pocehr car prices were crazy a few years ago and I sold it for twice what I paid for it.Now the prices have dropped quite a bit.
