I need to paint on glue to secure the ribs by watering it down however PVA glue is not easy to come by here in the wilds of Greece. I do have access to wood glue and super wood glue though. Can I water these down in the same way or do I need to get some of the real stuff delivered?

Hi z8000783! Check on the glue bottle, if is say to wipe off excess adhesive with a damp cloth then the answer is Yes. I would still put a little glue on a tile or plate wet a brush and mix the glue, this will water down the glue a little, add more drops of water until it is runny. then brush onto same scrap wood add another piece of scrap wood clamp and wait for it to dry this will take longer as the glue is watered down. When its dry check the wood has stuck together if all is OK! then you know it will work. If the wood cames apart then the glue couldn't be watered down. Darron

Hi, I used normal white wood glue to make my Endeavour, without needing to water it down. Otherwise any of the white craft/fabric glues will be fine. They are all pretty much the same thing. Part time modeller, full time biker

John If you have access to white wood glue you'll probably find its also termed as PVA which is what you need. 'PVC' wood glue does not exist which is why you might be finding locating it a problem.
