Thanks.... My first dabble with fibre optics... Got a ready made set of fibres connected to a bulb off ebay.. And spliced into the battery pack wiring... Also used led strips around the cocpit side walls and for the red light under the koolshade strip... These need 9 volts ... But reading the info that came with issue 1 it turns out that eventually the battery pack will run at 9 volts anyway.... Chuffed with how it turned out and the couple of extra notchings on the cockpit tube and the modifications to the nose cone have made me a lot more pleased with it.... I suppose when youve got to look at the finished thing for years to come you may as well spend time to satisfy your own quest for perfection !!!!!!

finally got back on track with missing issues from the last few weeks...and wow...!!!!now it really does start to look like the falcon....the machinery parts at the rear are super detailed and it shows how much planning must have gone into bringing us this model....issue 46 gives us the bottom gun turret which apart from a few more add on details will see the bottom hull complete. wonder what the next stage will be....side hull parts?...mandibles?...top hull?....I am guessing we will start to fit the interior pretty soon too.....all good stuff to look forward to.... adriuus attached the following image(s):

.....also coloured the bulb in the gunner control tube with a permanent marker as the bright white lighting was a little OTT...... adriuus attached the following image(s):

Fantastic stuff! Thanks for sharing. You're really keeping abreast of all the new additions in an impressive way. Seems to take me weeks to get to a similar point. It's good to get a real impression of how this thing is going to look, which is obviously amazing. I agree, the design and fit of all parts - from large to small - seems incredibly good and thoroughly worked out. Can't wait to see more!

Your paint job on the bottom of the hull looks amazing. I think I stared at your post for 10 minutes in awe. What reference material are you using if you don't mind me asking? I will definitely be referencing your build as I paint my own hull. Stephen Current Builds: HMS Sovereign of the Seas /// Lamborghini Countach /// Eaglemoss BTTF DeLorean

hi all.... just like to thank you all for your comments and support...really appreciate it and it means a lot coming from such a talented bunch as yourselves... to answer the question of reference photos I have included a couple of links to the sites I use.....hope the links work !!! https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xbhdu...qyhXSmK-np6l4Y15a?dl=0#/http://www.dnkhobbies.net/maths...illennium-falcon-photos/also think ive found my solution for displaying the beast once complete....much searching and trial and error led me to this monitor stand which with the square tv attachment removed fits inside the gun window perfectly and is very sturdy....means I will lose the interior of the lower gun area but I'm not that fussed ..as even if its displayed on the landing gear the bottom turret interior wont be visible...need a little more tinkering once I get the lower gun turret parts tomorrow but I think its a goer....will keep you updated...... adriuus attached the following image(s):

Nice find on the stand, but I thought the kit will be coming with a table top stand in future issues? Also, DAMN, that weathering job is fantastic! Love the paneling and streaks.

and so the bottom hull is complete....had a nightmare with getting issues from w h smiths over the last six weeks and I have ended up re-subscribing direct from deagostini...heres hoping things have improved since the start of the build !!!! I have now got my stand idea to work and have managed to still be able to keep the gunner wells intact..(thought i'd better in case it affected the structure if I took it out)... issue 48 continues the top hull parts that we last saw all the way back in issue 1..!!!!...seems such a long time ago now.. so here's how my falcon is looking now...just got to figure out where I'm going to store the upper half now as it looks like we are getting another jig to support that... adriuus attached the following image(s):

Shame i used to enjoy getting issues weekly I was just wandering because you have put the greeblies on just in front of the turret. I have dry fitted them using pics of the original as reference but I did not want to glue them just in case. I use to subscribe but I pick it up weekly. Just works out better for me. Darren

Yeah... I used the reference pics for the positionings of the greeblies... Im too impatient !!!!!....it does seem that issue 47 also contained a lot of the top turret greeblies ....although i would think it will be a long while before we need these..

Patience young padawan I have noted about 5 for the upper turret. This is a great project for me (a first) but jumping from one part to another? You really need to be an organised person to keep on top and be patient Darren
