Hi Dave No Probs on putting this one up I still need to finish mine when I get time. When I got mine there was just the book you have and no etch so your build will have a bonus part. Be aware that when making up the cockpit that everything is square or you will have assembly problems later with the fitting of the wings to the fuselage. Also if you add all the bits to the engine you cant fit the cowls so if your building her with the cowls then then half the engine detail stays on the sprue's. It is a very nice kit with plenty of detail thats been moulded in and will look forward to your build. Regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Good review. I've just got this kit on sale from amazon, it should be arriving tomorrow. I was going to build this as my build of the year 2016 but I spotted a revell USS new jersey bb-62 in wh smiths and impulse bought it ☺ so I am going to store the typhoon until later. Dave can you post a link to where you got the etch from?

Hi Dave, Started the Hurricane about 3 weeks ago just to have a break from my Spit build, finding this kit very interesting and a pleasure to build all parts go together very well so far, you may have to spend a bit of time working on the pilot I had to glue and tie the pilot like a mummy so there are no gaps when dry but what a fine detailed pilot we have I am sure there all the same for this series, I sprayed it black all over first to highlight the dark deep parts then hand painted it. Next I sprayed the inside of the cockpit green as you do, and then moved on to the engine, this is also very detailed and fun to build, so far I have sprayed the main block Satin Black (Vallejo) with red manifolds exhaust ports, and the cam covers Alclad 2 polished aluminium (acl-105) but there is still a lot more bits to fit to the Merlin v12.this is were I am right now,Dave but I must say this is a fine kit to build. Regards Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

A great review of a great kit Dave and I really look forward to the build diary. This kit will tax your abilities mate, though I think you're up to it from what I've seen of your work so far!!
@ Andy - Would love to see yours finished when you get the time, though I know you are a very busy guy?!
@ Trev - Are you going to be posting a diary for your 1:24 Hurricane Trev, would love to see that build on the forum and if it's anything like your Deag Spit build, then it'll be a good 'un my friend? Your Spit looks brilliant!
