BigGrin Thanks for the comments Derek Mick and Alan Cool

I was a bit worried about moving so far away from the instructions but it seems to have worked out ok Cool

I went shopping yesterday and have found the right colour for the basswood I think as it looks OK in electric light but will have a look in daylight Blink

Hi martyn, excellent progress on the planking you've really got it down to a fine art, and for what it's worth it think the light wood looks rather good.Cool

BigGrin Thanks for the feedback guys and for looking in Cool

I was a little worried that it was to much in your face but looking at it by the time I get the gunports and rubbing strakes it should break up the side of the hull quite nicely Cool

Thank you again and I am off to do some more planking Laugh

BigGrin Thanks Alan Andy and Kev for the bril comments Cool

A bit more done on the S.F Cool

I have fitted the stern decks and put on the first planks . As you can see the first plank is pinned so it stays 90deg to the deck so I can butt the other planks up to it . The deck is a bit fiddly as it has two curves .I found that by twisting the plank a small bit they fitted betterCool After the glue had dryed it was trimed and sanded Cool

Next job laying the second planking . I just followed the first planking to get to line up and as with the first planking it was sanded down.

Next is fitting the Beak and Keel . I filled the slot to get a nice close fit checking as I went with the beak Cool When done it was glued into place along with the rest of the keel peaces . When dry a cover strip was glued over the edge to cover the ply I used masking tape to hold it while it dryed and then trimed it back Cool

Thanks for looking rgd Martyn
