Huh

Some more help please. I need to paint some pieces for my HMS Pandora a "brass colour". I have been to my local hobby shop and one not so local, to source Humbrol "brass paint". No such thing available from either hobby shops. Do Humbrol actually produce a "brass coloured" paint? If so, does somebody perhaps know the number?

I found just two colours that I thought might be close enough, Humbrol #55 which turn out to be more of a "copperish" colour (tends to be more brown) and Humbrol #54 hich turns out to be more "goldish" or "bronzy" in tone. Neither get close to the actual "brass finish" I need for pieces like the bilge pump and helmsman's or ships wheel etc.

Thank you again.
Eugene

You can’t have everything ............................... ..where would you put it?

Have you tried the Tamiya paints? Their gold looks quite 'brassy', The No. is X12 Gold Leaf. They are acrylic too, but i think you will struggle to find an actual "Brass" colour.BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

Hi Eugene,

Here is an item number on ebay(130372880114) for Plasticote Brass enamel paint. I use it alot and it is the only one I have found to look realistic. I painted some parts with it and put them next to my brass cannons, You wouldn't notice the difference between them.

Cheers Chris..BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin
