BigGrin Hi All

My second Zoukei-Mura kit[ the other is in my stash] and this will be used with that 'other' kit or maybe the Meng ME 163 kit I have. Any way on with the review the box art is an actual picture of the finished model on opening the box there are two yellow plastic sprue's the instructions and a small decal set.

The sprue's are well cast in panzer yellow plastic with high detail and little or no flash, sink or ejection marks. The instructions are quite clear and can easily be followed although mostly in Japanese. You are also given two colour options in panzer grey or yellow.

Zoukei-Mura also do several option kits for this model at the moment I have the small etch set and the power trailer set and am still pondering what figure set to get for this one.

A very nice little kit with some nice parts and should build into a very nice model.

Regards

Nice kit and a nice review Andy, I'll look forward to seeing what you do with this, the other kit and the Me163 - that sounds very interesting and right up my street?! Cool ThumpUp

Shame this wasn't in 1:9 scale, I'd add it to my collection of 1:9 military motorcycles, even though it's only part motorcycle? An interesting machine!! Cool Cool Cool

BigGrin Hi Kev

Thanks for looking in and your comments. It really is a nice little kit I would have liked the tracks to have been a separate item but as its quite a small model not so bad. I also now have on order the bording preperation set comprising of kettenkrad driver, mechanic and pilot.

The Meng ME 163 Kit was reviewed earlyer this year and has the option of spliting the rear fuselage from the front section, tressles and supports included in the kit, so as it shows the rocket motor in place on the aircraft. Years ago there was a 1/72 kit of the ME 163 with its recovery tractor it would be nice to get the tractor in 1/32 scale to go with the aircraft.

Sounds very interesting Andy and now that you have the figures on order it is slowly coming together as a diorama? When will you be starting the build, I'll look forward to it? Cool Cool ThumpUp

Thanks for the link to your Me163 kit review, I'll have a look at that and I'll see if I can find anything on the 'net about a 1:32 recovery tractor for you too? Will let you know if I find anything. Cool

There's some interesting info on the Scheuch-Schlepper recovery tractor here Andy if it's of any use to you?:

http://robdebie.home.xs4...l/me163/equipment08.htm

You could maybe scratchbuild one if there's nothing commercially available? I reckon the two main wheels look like something from a German Opel Blitz truck and the rest could be made from plastic sheet/strip, etc - worth a look maybe? I note from that site (near the bottom of the page) that the Miniature AFV Association did some 1:72 plans in one of their bi-monthly 'Tankette' magazines which you could have scaled up as a reference drawing?

Guess what Andy? Just found this!!!!:

http://forum.largescalem...uftballonanh%C3%A4nger/

It seems that there IS a 1:32 scale commercially produced model after all and it looks like a very nicely detailed kit?!!

Hannants have them on their website but showing as 'out of stock' at the moment - you could always ring them and ask if they can get one for you, though they ain't cheap?!:

Hope that helps mate? Cool ThumpUp

BigGrin Hi Kev

Thanks for taking the time to look things up and find out. I have ordered both direct from the Profi Modeller web site so have both on there way now. It may just turn into a DIO at a future date now I have the Tractor set. There is a more pressing build that has to come 1st before this one can be tackled. I have added a link to the web site as there are lots of add on goodys there.

Glad to be of help Andy, it was a pleasure as I love doing research on anything WWII and this is one very interesting part of that era! Cool Drool

I note from the Profimodeller website that they also do a purpose made set of four crewmen for the Scheuch Schlepper as well? Did you order those as well?

Please do a kit review of the tractor kits when they arrive Andy, it will be interesting to see what's in the box in more detail?! ThumpUp
